Lok Jagriti Sansthan

Lok Jagiriti Sansthan emphasises on economic empowerment and livelihood enhancement of poor and deprived sections with a focus on unemployed women and youths. It has set up vocational training centres to prepared them to take up employment. Though the VTCs are open for every needy person, SHG members are given preference.

The VTCs impart training in trades like readymade garment making, zari craft, beautician, artificial jewellery, mobile repairing, electrician and plumbing. Together these VTCs train about 275 girls and women, and 150 youth in a year.

Adequate number of trainers with sufficient experience have been engaged by the organisation. After completion of the training the beneficiaries are given counselling on the scope of opportunities for employment/self-employment, marketing potential of their products, financial linkages, etc.

The organisation is also engaged in providing handicraft training on different trades for SHG members who are also artisans. Traditional items made by the artisans do not enjoy market now a day due to the domination of new designs and verity of items. Realising this, the organisation is providing additional inputs on various techniques pertaining to new designing, multiple embroidery, diversification of products, etc.
